Wiki - Weapon Leveling

To level a weapon or spell book you must first apply a 'Level Weapon Deed' to it.  Once done, you will see Level: and Experience: listed among its stats on scroll over.  When the weapon is equipped it will gain experience and, eventually, levels for killing monsters. 

A weapon will reach the maximum level of 200 at around 4 million experience and will gain 3 points to spend on it's abilities each level.  A bonus 3 points are rewarded on each level divisible by 10 (10, 20, 30 etc...).  It should be noted that a weapon with an artifact rarity tag can be leveled, but the costs for each attribute will be double what is listed here.  

To spend, or preview, the points you have left to spend single click the weapon and then 'information'.  The following gump will appear.  Note that this gump is the one for Weapons.  Spell Books do not have Weapon Hits or Resistances available.

Currently all Spell Books except the Custom Spell System ones can be leveled.

Weapons will not gain experience for monsters killed with spells.

Neither Weapons or Spell Books will gain experience for monsters killed with pets.
